Mayim Bialik is famous for being a neuroscientist on The Big Bang Theory. But this year’s Emmy-nominated actress is ALSO a neuroscientist with a Ph.D. in real life!
After scouring the World Wide Web in search of the most ridiculous true/false brain questions, we asked Mayim to answer them using her wisdom. CLASS IS NOW IN SESSION.
“It depends on how you define works.”
“It’s hard to answer, but yes.”
“There’s no external pain receptors,” she says, “So yeah.” In other words, the brain processes pain signals from the rest of the body, but has no receptors of its own to detect pain on the brain itself.
“Well, yeah. Those luminosity things? Then…”
“It’s hard to answer that way, so I’m gonna go with an ‘I don’t know.’”
“The math teacher is not lying.”
“That’s a cool question!”
Season 9 of The Big Bang Theory premieres Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. ET/7 CT on CBS.
